BIOGRAPHY
My name is Arvel M. Beckham, Jr. I live on a small farm, next to the Plum Creek, just South of Burden, Kansas, on Highway 160. I am 77 years young...a song writer and a guitar player...that loves country hymns and western swing, way back in the woods in the evergreens!!
I retired in 1991 from public work and now farm, ranch and write music. I'm a cowboy by trade and in my early days, I was a bull rider in rodeos.
I was married for 49 years to my precious wife Marjorie. I lost Marjorie in the spring of '06. We together raised 7 children, 4 ugly boys and 3 beautiful girls. The boys look like their dad. Two of the boys were soldiers, one a Marine and one in the Navy.
Over the last 6 years I have written 21 songs, copyrighted in 2003. I also have a band called the "Beckham Trio". My fellow musicians are Tom and Jerry.
